Our very first snow day!

Its been a long time coming, but we finally have our first winter storm and a snow day for everyone!  It started snowing in the early morning hours and it hasnt shown any signs of letting up!  Im actually pretty excited about it!  Here I thought we would be *old hats* when it came to this by now...Bring it Mother Nature!

Derek took Evie out this morning while I was making breakfast on the porch to make her first ever snowman!  She was more interested in playing in the snow then making the snowman and I think Derek enjoyed it more that way too!  We may be old, but we remember how to play!

Lake Superior Family Fun Fest 2012

Took the kids to an indoor carnival yesterday!  There were booths from local vendors, kiddie carnival rides, midway games, food, the works!  Evie rode just about every ride and loved each and every one!  I think its safe to say Derek and I are getting a little old for certain things....like spinning carnival rides!  

A typical night (well, sort of)

Ollie is finally getting big enough to start taking a bath with Evie!  She loved it!  Of course, she wants to hold him all the time, she has even tried to stand while she holds him (that lasts about 10 seconds and then she thinks he is too heavy).  Ollie really is starting the like the water now, except at one point, he was tired of me taking his picture and Daddy making faces at him!

We went to the library the other day and Evie was able to get 5 more books (its a weekly ritual).  She loves when we read to her.

Lastly, here is my girl, Stella!  She was 9 in January.  Her whole face is so gray now.  She is the best dog, ever.

Derek and the Trinidad Scorpion Pepper

As most of you know, Derek likes spicy food.  When I say spicy, I mean fire.  Fire fire.  He eats habaneros and serranos like they are candy.  We grew ghost peppers back in Key West and he would eat them with his dinner each night.  Well, since a new pepper came out (hybrid, not natural), he had to try it.  Enjoy the videos!  I did...lol

Trying to iceskate

So last night, we went out and bought myself, Evie and Derek some ice skates (used, of course).  We went out today to try them out.  Let's just say, we suck!  Evie really wants to learn but she is terrified of falling on her butt and hurting herself.  She also does NOT like the way I am trying to teach her (I make her go and if she falls, she falls) and Derek is the total opposite.  She had a blast though!

OH!  We finally broke down and bought a second vehicle.  Thank the lord!  Its a 2005GMC Sierra and Derek loves it! No more early mornings for me when I need the car!
